The Room in 200 words (exercise 3.3 #2)

Attempt one:

In this room there is four walls, a hardwood floor, and one door. A corner desk fixed in the far left corner and a white linen cabinet in the far right corner. On the fixed desk there is a shuffle iPod dock playing relaxing music, beside you find a silver wire business card holder and a stack of post-it notes that have a quartet of cows on primary colour backdrops on each side. Also on the desk are two blankets and two pillows. One pillow is a body pillow in a sea foam green sleeve and the other is in a plaid green cover. One blanket would be more at home in a hospital and the other was made by an ex-coworker’s grandmother and is one of the more fluffy and comfy afghans I have even seen, and also a green colour, but with more blue-teal accents. Beside the white cabinet filled with my linens and oils, sits my dejected, noisy, but necessary rolly chair that came with the room. On the right hand wall when you walk in the door there in a small shelf unit with towels and extra water bottles on the shelves; Kleenex, complementary water bottles, and candies on top waiting to be taken.

Attempt two:

Small room with hardwood floor, a carpet in the middle under a draped table. Desk fixed in far left corner and a white linen cabinet in the right. On the corner desk: a shuffle iPod dock playing relaxing music, a silver wire business card holder, post-it notes with a quartet of primary colour backdroped cows on each side, one sea foam green body pillow, one green plaid smaller pillow, one white hospital blanket, and one fluffy green and teal afghan made by my ex-coworker’s grandmother. Beside the desk sits a grey plastic filing cabinet heavy with two drawers of colourful client records, lopsided and supported by the desk, its three functional wheels lacking the vital fourth. In the linen closet: linens (flannel and cotton), oils (grapeseed and Japanese mint), white, terry housecoat and black recipe boxes containing client contact cards. On the closet: a small, ticking clock and a painting of calla lilies to get lost in. Beside: Dejected, noisy, necessary rolly chair. In small shelf between cabinet and the door: Towels and extra water bottles. Waiting on that little shelf: Kleenex, complementary water bottles and hard candies. Dimmed light emitted by ornate sconces on three of the four walls.

Attempt Three:

Dimly lit by three ornate sconces, the small, square room smells of mint and beeswax. Hardwood flooring with large area rug stretched under a draped table. Fixed desk in left corner and a white linen cabinet in the right. On desk: a shuffle iPod dock playing relaxing music, wire business card holder, post-it notes with a comical quartet of cows on each side, two pillows: both green but one a sea foam body pillow, and two blankets: one hospital white and the other a grandma-made, comfy, green afghan. Beside the desk sits a plastic grey filing cabinet, lopsided because the three functional wheels lack the vital fourth and it is heavy with two drawers of colourful client records. In the linen cabinet: linens (flannel and cotton), oils (grapeseed and Japanese mint), terry housecoat, and black recipe boxes containing client contact cards. On the cabinet: a small, ticking clock and a painting of a cracked vase of calla lilies to get lost in. Beside: a dejected, noisy, but necessary rolly chair. In small shelf between cabinet and the door: Towels and extra water bottles. Waiting on little shelf: a plume of Kleenex, complementary water bottles and sweet, fruity, hard candies.
